The ultimate responsibility for Health and Safety matters lies with the Managing Director and Director who will be assisted by the Company's other Managers.

The Company will apply management principles to all matters of Health & Safety, and will identify hazards and assess risks before work is started then decide how they can be eliminated or controlled.

The Company will also set standards for premises, plant, substances etc. and to carry out safe systems of work.

The Company will provide information regarding hazards, risks and preventative measures to all employees, subcontractors and others (including members of the public) involved at any Company premises.

The Company will carry out a purchasing and supply system, which takes Health & Safety associated matters into account.

All employees have a legal duty, not only to work in such a way as not to endanger themselves or others, but also to co-operate and assist in achieving the aims of this Company Safety Policy.

Detailed advice on safety procedures and arrangements, together with specific areas of responsibilities are contained within the appendix of this Policy, which will be displayed at places of work.

Directors, Managers, and, all employees have a direct responsibility to report all hazards and matters which concern loss or damage to plant or property.

 

In the case of hazards (or suspected hazards) any work in the vicinity of the hazard should stop. The hazard to be clearly marked and the matter be reported to a Manager immediately.

In the case of plant, it should be appropriately labelled or locked off. Property damage should be clearly signposted as necessary. Any matters mentioned in this paragraph must be reported and rectified as soon as possible, then logged in the Company accident and occurrence book.

Above all, we believe that our employees are the future of Jackson Jackson & Sons Ltd and with continual development through training programme we will continue to lead the way in the commercial construction industry.

It is the responsibility of all Jackson Jackson personnel to ensure that they question strange occurrences or strangers walking around Jackson Jackson & Sons Ltd offices or property.

If the person identifying the unusual occurrence does not feel confident enough to deal with it directly, then he is to report the matter to a responsible person immediately.
