in construction, I am highly skilled in all
operations and responsible for ensuring that
our corporate goals of quality and value for
money are achieved on site.
This involves communicating
our company philosophy to all workers on site.
They can love me and hate me, often within the
same day, but they must trust me that they will
be rewarded for their hard work and in return
we obtain the quality of work from them within
the required time scales.
I can use contract cost reports
from our financial director to troubleshoot
a contract within days of any problems arising
to get the contract back on budget or to re-negotiate
with the client for extras that are causing
the increased costs. Planning each contract
and adapting to changing circumstances are vital
to achieve our objectives.
